First and foremost, we would like to share how good God really is to us, not only during my wife Josephine's last pregnancy but ALL THE TIME. After confirming that she was to have our baby #4, initial blood test on my wife indicated a presence of extra chromosome in an otherwise normal set of 2, either a trisomy 21 or 18. Having been briefed by the doctors on what this abnormality is all about, she could not help but cry almost every night for a week or so. Then as soon as we had the chance to share the news, our faithful brethren at Madison Baptist Church and friends around the world, helped us pray for both baby and mom. From the very beginning, my wife and I had given it all up to God believing that He is able to do miracle on our baby that He had formed in that womb. Ultrasounds could neither accurately establish a positive nor negative diagnosis. Doctors kept recommending to have Josephine undergo amniocentesis, a surgical insertion of a hollow needle through the abdominal wall and into the uterus to obtain amniotic fluid to determine fetal chromosomal abnormality. This procedure is 99% percent accurate according to those smart physicians. But we had already put our 100% trust in God, so we did not care about taking any of those medical procedures that would just change our already-set-faith in God. Not even the scary thought of baby's slim chance of survival had affected our faith. Nine months had gone and on December 19th of 2003, Jared Paul finally came out. Lo and behold, a HEALTHY NORMAL BOY! What a lovely and awesome gift from the Almighty who had preserved this tiny babe from inception to birth. This just goes to prove that God makes no mistake, but humans and most advanced machines do. THANK YOU SO MUCH LORD. And to those who had prayed for us, we greatly appreciate your time and effort kneeling and begging for this miracle. Words cannot express our deepest gratitude to you all. And this is one of the main reasons why I put up this family website so we could share our joy with you, as well as to those individuals who would happen to visit this page.
As you have noticed above, I have mentioned God or Lord a number of times. It is also our pleasure to share what my family believe and why we believe. To start with, Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Jesus in many occasions underscored "if any man have ears to hear, let him hear". We have heard, and have believed. Below are the three basic elements of our Christian faith, and a lot more doctrinal things that we believe can be found in our Church website.
[1.] We believe that the Bible is true and inspired Word of God written by men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate standard by which human beliefs are judged. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 "15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."
[2.] We believe that there is only One True and Living God, the Supreme Creator manifested in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
[3.] We believe that we are saved (from the wrath of God to come) by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is spelled as D-O-N-E, not D-O. It is our RELATIONSHIP with Christ, not RELIGION, that matters most. Ephesians 2:8-10 "8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of ourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
Isaiah 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
Last but not least, we would like to share these verses that have encouraged my family as we live in this transient world. Romans 8:1, 18 & 28 "1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
